I first stumbled across Project NM when I was starting Stay Sunny and was scrolling Instagram for inspiration. Nicole's positivity was infectious and it's been such a joy to watch her brand grow into a tribe of women all supporting each other. Having a good crew is so important when starting any business, especially if you're doing it on your own. I caught up with her to see how it's all going and what's next for Project NM.
When did you start Project NM?
I launched PROJECT NM last November!
When/how did you get the idea for it?
I got the idea back in January of last year! I still remember that day like it was yesterday. I was sitting at my kitchen table, drinking coffee and brainstorming ideas with my Mom-we’re total besties! I remember talking to her that morning about how hard finding women who were like-minded and understood my obsession with being an entrepreneur was- I needed a tribe of babes to hustle with and who just “get it”. And just like that, I created PROJECT NM. A place where I could build relationships with other entrepreneurs who were go-getters, determined and unapologetically ambitious.
What’s been the trickiest thing about being your own boss?
The amount of workload and responsibility that comes with being your own boss is insane! I’d say having to juggle so many things all at once could be the trickiest thing, especially if you’re a one woman show in the beginning!
Give us your best piece of advice?
· Follow your intuition and let your passion(s) guide you.
· Never let the fear of failure overpower your desire to win.
· Don’t take advice from anyone who isn’t where you want to be.
· Stay true to who you are and stay in your lane.
· Commit and always follow through.
What are your three best tips for growing your brand via social media?
- Engage with your social media besties every single day
- Like their pictures and comment if you really love it - be genuine
- Hit that 'Follow' button at the top of other like-minded individuals and connect with them
- Produce quality content that always represents your brand
- Focus on creating genuine relationships vs getting more “followers”
What is a day in your life?
Usually, it consists of countless lattes, a morning or afternoon workout, answering emails, attending meetings, posting on Instagram, planning photoshoots and drafting up content for the site and the IG!
What’s your favourite social media platform and why?
I feel like Insta is such a great platform. The connections you can make with people all around the world are endless!

Are you a procrastinator?
Guilty- lol. It’s definitely something I struggle with.
What do you do if you lose motivation?
When I'm not feeling motivated or like "things couldn't get any worse", I take a minute to look back and reflect on everything I’ve already accomplished, sales I’ve made, relationships I’ve made, goals I’ve reached. It helps me kinda snap back into reality when things seem like they aren’t moving as fast as I’d like.
Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
Serving as an inspiration to other women and entrepreneurs who never thought they could build a successful business all while loving what they do, organizing events and boot camps for our PROJECT NM tribe, designing all kinds of merchandise for the “#bizbabe”, the sky’s the limit!
Anything exciting coming up you can share with us?
Actually, yes! I’m in the works of organizing our very first #bizbabe event here in Miami, FL and will be announcing the event date and deets pretty soon! I also have a few other exciting things in the works but you’ll have to stay tuned to find out!
